Quietly Improving Your Environment

Quiet performance in demanding locations

Two Vibratec reference projects in Stockholm are now featured in case studies by our supplier REGUPOL: Ersta Hospital in Södermalm and Lydiahemmet in Farsta strand. Both projects faced demanding urban conditions where vibration control and structure-borne noise had to be managed without compromising comfort.

Challenge: The logistic zone facing the busy Folkungagatan risked transmitting structure-borne noise and vibrations into the clinical environment.
Solution: REGUFOAM vibration in floor-supported structures to effectively decouple the logistic zone.
Result: Interference-free operation throughout the building while maintaining comfort and quiet for patients and staff.

Challenge: A timber care facility located directly above a Stockholm Metro station—placing very high demands on comfort and quiet.
Solution: Steel plates with REGUFOAM vibration cut-to-size pieces already applied at the factory, which were individually tailored to each support point.
Result: A quiet living environment despite proximity to rail traffic—an exemplary case of urban densification with timber construction and targeted vibration isolation.

The Importance of Building Base Isolation in an Urban Environment

This is more of a case study than a news post. Here we want to explain the importance of optimising a floor to meet the requirement of noise and vibrations through a building to ensure a better working and living environment for the tenants.

Vibration Isolation for Multi-storey Timber Buildings

Avoid structure-borne noise from vibrations in lightweight structures to achieve effective vibration isolation in timber buildings. In recent years, multi-storey timber buildings have become a significant part of the new constructions of apartment blocks. The increase in timber construction brings several positive aspects, including a reduced climate impact and the possibility of a faster and…
